Money Market
MT 330 confirms a call or notice deposit — money-market placements with no fixed maturity date, where either party can end the arrangement by giving an agreed notice period instead. It serves the same confirmation role as MT 320, just for a more flexible deposit structure.
Key fields
- 20 — Sender's Reference: The sending bank's own deal reference.
- 30 — Trade Date: When the deal was agreed.
- 30V — Value Date: When the principal is placed.
- 32B — Currency/Amount: The principal amount.
- 37G — Interest Rate: The rate agreed at the outset — often subject to change on notice, unlike a fixed deposit.
- 34E — Notice Details: The agreed notice period required before either party can call the funds back or withdraw them.
Because there's no maturity date to plan around, call/notice deposits are more of a liquidity-management tool than a fixed-term investment — banks use them to park short-term surplus cash while keeping it accessible on short notice.
