Collections
MT 410 is the collecting bank's acknowledgement that it has received the documents the remitting bank sent under a documentary or clean collection. It's a simple receipt confirmation — proof the documents have arrived and collection processing has begun — sent before any payment or acceptance has actually happened.
Key fields
- 20 — Sender's Reference: Reference for this acknowledgement.
- 21 — Related Reference: The original collection instruction being acknowledged.
- 30 — Date of Receipt: When the documents actually arrived at the collecting bank.
- 32a — Amount: The collection amount, for confirmation.
This is a lightweight, early-stage message — the real substance comes later, in either an MT 400 (payment received) or an MT 416 (payment or acceptance refused).
